Sempai Viti's approach on teaching and on being an important role model in the dojo extends to his daily life and challenges. Through self discipline and the rigors of training in the martial arts he thrives to succeed in his everyday life. The Martial Arts are a key point in his life and he stresses often that the martial arts don’t just teach kicking and punching, but how to be a more accomplished individual and how to be a respectable member of society.

When Sempai thinks of a student in any form of martial arts he thinks of a respectable and honorable individual. When he thinks of a student in the Elite Goju style of martial arts he thinks of a person who is modest, loyal, humble, patient, respectable, honorable, and has integrity to spare. Sempai trains under a Sensei who thinks that it is unacceptable to be anything less than the greatest you can be. When he sees himself now he thinks of a glass, a glass that is half full. The water in the glass signifies how much he’s learned, but the empty space shows how much he has yet to accomplish. It is important though to show optimism in everything that you do and in your day to day life. Karate has influenced Sempai in many ways. In the spiritual way it has taught him never to give up, never to surrender, and to have the “heart of a lion”. In the mental way karate has taught him that no matter how big the feat, or how challenging the obstacle, anything can be overcome.
